Sweet Urbanovsky Family,
I'm Sarah Barbre, and I am SO thankful that I got to be one of Luke's counselors in Fish Camp. I know you've heard this a million times, but he was truly everything we hoped and prayed our freshmen would be--up for ANYTHING, welcoming, inclusive (even to those who were super shy or felt like they didn't fit in), energetic, serving, and just an absolute joy to be around. I have attached a picture of our Flashback Mixer night. Luke said he didn't bring anything to wear, but we didn't let him off the hook that easily. He happily put on everything we threw his way--those are actually my tights! He had a way of making everyone feel totally comfortable. What a sweet sweet guy.
I remember running into him on campus once school started and asking him how things were going. He was THRILLED about everything he was involved in and all the people he was meeting and places he was going, and I distinctly remember telling him to slow down! He just looked at me with that big smile and gently shook his head. He never slowed down, and what an amazing lesson that is for me to remember. Luke knew that life on this Earth was amazing, and he did not waste one second of it. What a huge impact he has made on this world.
I keep your family in my thoughts and prayers always. I am SO impressed by the strength you have and the way you allow Luke's memory to stay strong even though it's often painful thinking he is not walking with us on this earth. Luke is an angel though, he always was, and I love hearing your stories of feeling him with you in the hardest of times, proving that he will always be watching over. It was truly an honor to speak with some of you at Spoons this past weekend--it's no longer hard to believe where such an amazing guy came from : ). I will be standing for Luke at Silver Taps in the fall, saying "here" for him at Muster in the spring, and keeping him in my heart always. Sending all my love and prayers of peace to each of you.
